I have had nothing but time during this quarantine and although I haven’t been able to get out and unfortunately that means more time to browse the internet and window shop. I haven’t been over spending but definitely have had more time to finally do the things I complained before not having enough time for like decorating, reading and spending more time on self care.
Home Nail Care
Since I can’t make it to the nail salon, I’ve opted to take the opportunity to do them myself. Typically I stick to pinks or reds for the spring and summer months but I’ve really been interested to see if a pale yellow would grow on me. I found one at Target by Essie.
Eyeshadow Palettes
One other recent purchase has been a new eyeshadow palette from Tarte Cosmetics. This is the first purchase of mine from Tarte making me a newbie and I must say how impressed with the palette I’ve been. As someone who doesn’t wear a full face of makeup often and typically sticks to neutral super light neutral colors, I wanted to explore new territory. The colors on this Bloom Palette really are bold and pigmented. They show up well and there isn’t much fallout. Its a versatile palette that can take you from day to night. Honestly, all of the Tarte’s palettes are bomb. I don’t think a bad purchase is possible here.
Self Care Items
Self Care has been a big part of my schedule since being at home, face masks being one of those items I can put on and let it work while answering emails or watching a movie. My skin is dry, so looking for a product with hydration elements as well as brightening agents and decreasing any inflammation is extremely important especially during allergy season.
Loungewear/Pajamas
Loungewear and Pajamas are what I’m living in at this time. I go to bed in PJs and wake up to change into loungewear that is comfortable enough to be in all day, still look presentable in case I have to go out to the car, make a quick pickup or need to check the mail. Target has been great for making quick pickups when I see comfortable options.
Home Decor – Indoor/Outdoor Space Updates
Since moving in to the new place, I’ve been taking my time decorating making sure the pieces I invest in are ones I’m truly satisfied with. I remember as a child a few of my older cousins owned papasan chairs. They were round with a big pillow for cushion and while then those were really popular, I’ve been drawn to the modern retake of the classic wicker chair. So many variations of these chairs are available, from egg shaped to resembling actual chairs and patio styles for outdoor entertainment. I actually purchased the one pictured at Target. Plans are to make it the center of a soon to come reading and working nook.
