My professional journey, has been filled with plenty of highs and lows, rediscovery and finally feeling secure that I’d found my purpose and professional niche. I’ve had to remind myself however, on many occasions to take life day by day, there will always be another chance to do better than before and most importantly, not to overthink it, although this last reminder is often the most difficult for me to manage.
I’ve always known that manifesting success alone isn’t enough and although we’re not always motivated to succeed, success is a result of what we do on a daily basis influenced by our personal core beliefs that are instrumental to the process.
I truly believe that success is the result of perseverance. Where others may top your skill level, its often the last standing who reign as champions, which is why developing core beliefs and practicing these daily in the pursuit of success is essential in the long run.
Passion Changes Everything
If you’re not passionate about the work you do, your efforts will always come across as forceful to not only those evaluating your performance but also yourself. Motivation and inspiration will be absent from your daily efforts and any attempt to be disciplined will be more difficult than expected. Not everyone will claim that passion and purpose is achievable, especially as a total package, but that’s only because they’ve failed to uncover their own purpose or lacked the passion to discover their life’s meaning. If you don’t love what you do or at least why you’re doing it, it will always be difficult to have any euphoria in the path and process taken. So, when you’re told that passion and purpose is nonexistent, don’t listen, continue your search.
No shortcuts lead to anyplace worth going
Spending time to learn, perfect and become an expert in your craft takes time. Being prepared isn’t always possible, but when it is I like to take advantage of the resources and experiences that can take me from a beginner to subject expert leaving me with the confidence and proof that my opinion when asked is creditable. Many claim to have discovered shortcuts for reaching their version of success, becoming an overnight sensation even, however, their lack of knowledge often is exposed by failure and panic in situations, stakeholders expect them to be able to proficiently perform in.
Be Honest and Have Integrity in Whatever you do
Real power and success comes from being honest. You would think that being honest and having integrity though simple characteristics, is everyone’s moral compass especially when other people are involved, this is not the case. Its especially a difficult pick in the line up amongst those who found “shortcuts” to the places they’ve gotten and so quickly. Having the courage to face the truth empowers respect from others to lean on you in time of crisis and growth.
